Working in a 400 year old archeological national monument required an out of box design approach to create a contemporary light element but which strongly resonates with 400 yr old monument aesthetic and ambience.
Hence any use of aesthetically alien material was out of the question. We adopted a glass fibre reinforced concrete mould specifically designed for this project which inhouses a discreet illumination that is vandalism proof and not visually seen during day and night function. It resonates the texture and visual characteristics of a hand cut natural stone.
