A rooftop cafeteria is a place people come to pause. Its architecture doesn’t need to shut the city out. It needs to frame it.
Here, that frame is a single, continuous GFRC screen. Rows of open rectangular cells run the full length of the partition, cast at scale and repeated with exact precision. The grid gives the edge of the terrace a calm, structural rhythm, while air and daylight pass through freely. It reads less like a wall and more like a filter, marking the boundary of the space without closing it off.
Through the openings, the sky and the skyline stay in view. The cafeteria feels enclosed and open at once, with the surrounding city appearing in fragments through the screen. As the sun moves, the depth of each cell shifts, and the surface changes character through the day without a single moving part.
The screen stands on its own, without a building envelope behind it. That is where GFRC proves its strength: slender sections, crisp edges and a large, uninterrupted span, all in a lightweight system suited to a rooftop.
