A heritage bungalow carries an obligation most new buildings don't — its detailing has to read as continuous with a regional architectural memory, not as a modern insertion beside it. In Bhachau, architect Raj Kothi worked within that obligation, using GFRC Allure to bring the ornamental vocabulary of Kutch's traditional residences — its brackets, mouldings, and decorative reliefs — onto a facade built for present-day use.
Reproducing that vocabulary at scale is where the material choice mattered. Hand-carved detailing of this kind is slow, inconsistent across craftsmen, and increasingly difficult to source at the level of finish a heritage-style facade demands. GFRC Allure allowed each ornamental element — brackets, cornice details, decorative panels — to be cast once and repeated with identical profile and depth across the elevation, giving the facade the visual richness of carved stone without depending on it.
The white, smooth finish kept the ornamentation legible rather than heavy. In Bhachau's strong daylight, the mouldings' shadow lines carry the detail, and a flat white surface lets those shadows do the work instead of competing with texture or tone. The result is a facade that speaks the region's traditional language fluently, built through a contemporary casting process that makes that language repeatable for a working home rather than a museum piece.
