Public outdoor furniture in a high-footfall tourism destination has to answer to a brief most indoor pieces never face constant exposure, heavy daily use, and long stretches with little to no maintenance attention. In Kevadiya, that brief shaped a set of grey concrete benches and seating elements built for exactly that kind of endurance.
Concrete's advantage here isn't aesthetic first it's structural. Cast furniture holds its form and finish under direct sun, monsoon exposure, and years of visitor contact without the surface degradation timber or painted metal alternatives show within a few seasons. Each piece was cast as a single, monolithic form, removing the joints, fixings, and moving parts that are typically the first point of failure in outdoor seating exposed to public use at scale.
The smooth grey finish was chosen for the same reason it works well in this kind of setting: it doesn't compete with the landscape around it, ages evenly rather than showing patchy wear, and needs no repainting or resealing cycle to stay presentable. For a site built around high visitor volumes, that's the quieter but more important measure of success furniture that keeps performing long after the finishing crew has left.
