In 2017, a call came in from one of Gujarat's most respected architects, Jitendra Mistry, a name carrying over 50 years in the field.

The brief: recreate an intricately detailed 3D panel depicting Lord Krishna's Raslila, originally designed in MDF, now needed in concrete. The panel measured 17.5 ft by 5.5 ft, nearly 100 square feet, bound for international shipping by sea. It had to be lightweight enough to transport, durable enough to survive the journey, detailed enough to preserve every element of the original relief work, and cast as a single piece, with no joints anywhere across its surface.

We said yes immediately.

What we didn't know at the time: every other vendor approached before us had called the brief impossible. We were the only team willing to commit to a joint-free panel at that scale, which was the reason the architect reached out to us directly and placed the order.

The original schedule was 30 days. Work began on that basis.

Two days in, the timeline changed entirely. Travel plans were preponed, and the panel was now needed in 7 days instead of 30. We were honest about the risk, our raw material wasn't due to arrive in time to meet that window, and the architect made clear that if we couldn't commit, the project would go elsewhere.

We asked for one night to consult with the team. By the next morning, we called back with a firm date: delivery by Sunday, 12 PM.

Then Mumbai's monsoon delayed the raw material further, pushing its arrival from Wednesday to Friday evening, cutting the working window down to almost nothing.

What followed was a compressed, continuous production push:

Friday: Mould preparation began
Saturday morning: The mould was opened and the pattern had stuck to the surface; the team cleaned it by hand, panel by panel
Saturday, 11:30 PM: Casting began
Sunday, 8:00 AM: The panel was de-moulded
Sunday, 11:00 AM: Loaded onto the truck
Sunday, 12:00 PM: Delivered, exactly on schedule

From the start of casting to dispatch: 12 hours. One single 100 square foot concrete panel. Zero joints.

When the panel arrived, architect Mistry's response was direct: "In my entire career, I've never received service like this." The panel later became the hero image on his Diwali gift card to his well-wishers that year.

The lesson we keep coming back to from this project: the toughest commissions aren't won by having every answer ready in advance. They're won by the confidence to say yes to what others have declined, and a team capable of solving the rest, even at 11:30 PM with the clock running out.
