Institutional architecture carries a long-term responsibility. It has to serve its function for decades, while giving the campus a visual identity that outlasts any single building phase.

At Gujarat University, that identity is carried by a full-height GFRC jali, wrapping the corner of the structure like a second skin. A dense, vertical linear pattern runs across the entire panel system, broken only by the module lines beneath it, so the perforation reads as one continuous texture rather than a set of individual pieces stacked together.

The scale here is the achievement. Covering a corner elevation this large with a single repeating pattern demands exact consistency, panel after panel, row after row, so that from the ground the wall reads as one unbroken surface rather than a grid of separate tiles. Behind the perforation, the jali does its quieter work as well, filtering direct sunlight and allowing air to move through the façade, keeping the mass of the building from feeling solid or closed.

Set against a plain grey backdrop, the white jali stands out with restraint rather than ornament, its geometry doing the work that colour or embellishment would otherwise be asked to do. It is architecture that draws attention through precision, not decoration.
