A railway station is a building most people pass through without a second glance, yet its architecture has to work harder than almost any other public structure, sheltering, ventilating, and welcoming thousands of daily passengers while standing up to constant use.

At Samakhiyali, that work is carried by a repeating GFRC jali system, cast in grey and finished with a fine geometric perforation across the full width of the station's entrance canopy. Set against warm red brickwork above and grey structural columns below, the jali brings texture and rhythm to what could otherwise be a purely functional façade, while doing its real job quietly: filtering daylight and allowing air to move freely through the covered platform space.

The pattern's strength lies in its consistency. Panel after panel, the perforation repeats without variation, so the wall reads as one continuous woven surface rather than a series of individual tiles bolted into place. That precision matters most in public infrastructure, where the material has to perform reliably across years of exposure and footfall, not just look considered on the day it's installed.
