When Pramukh Developers set out to give their Vadodara project a facade that would stand apart in a city known for its blend of colonial era buildings and fast growing modern developments, the brief leaned into colour and pattern rather than away from it. The idea was to create a screen system with real visual presence, warm, earthy, and distinctly regional in tone, while still reading as contemporary architecture.
Terracotta was the obvious colour direction. It carries a strong association with Gujarat's building traditions, from old brick facades to hand fired jali screens, and gives a structure warmth that grey and white finishes rarely achieve. But working in actual terracotta at facade scale brings real limitations: weight, fragility, and long lead times for custom patterns. GFRC gave Pramukh Developers a way to get that same terracotta character, the same depth of colour and the same fine geometric detailing, without any of those constraints.
The screen system was cast in a repeating geometric pattern designed to filter light and create shadow movement across the day, while giving the building's facade a strong sense of rhythm and scale. Panels were engineered for consistent colour and pattern alignment across the full elevation, ensuring the facade reads as one continuous woven surface rather than a series of separate installations.
Beyond the aesthetic impact, the GFRC system also brought practical value to the project: reduced structural load compared to stone or clay alternatives, faster installation, and long term durability against Vadodara's climate.
Completed in 2025, this project gave Pramukh Developers a facade that immediately sets their development apart, proof that colour, pattern, and material innovation can come together to create a genuinely distinctive architectural identity.
