A resort facade in Dwarka has to do two things a plain elevation can't filter the coastal region's strong daylight into guest rooms and common areas, and give the building a visual identity distinct enough to signal a leisure destination rather than a standard hospitality block. At Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, that identity is built from a dense, perforated jali screen in ochre yellow, punctuated across its columns and boundary walls by inset glass fusion leaf motifs in green tones.

The jali's grid of square perforations is the facade's primary functional layer deep enough to break direct sun before it reaches the glazing behind it, while still allowing filtered daylight and air movement through the openings. Producing that grid at the density and repetition visible across multiple floors and boundary walls needed a cast process capable of holding tight, consistent perforation edges panel after panel, something a poured-in-place or block-built screen struggles to guarantee at this scale.

The glass fusion inserts add a second material system into the same surface small leaf-form panels set into the columns and wall segments between jali panels, catching light differently from the surrounding concrete and giving the ochre facade a recurring decorative accent that reads clearly even from a distance. Paired with the ferro-textured columns and the smooth cast jali panels, the combination gives the resort's boundary wall, entrance signage, and guest room facade a single, continuous material language practical shading on one hand, a distinct architectural identity on the other.
